Artist: Nohycit
CD Title: Sinister
Label: Engraved Ritual
Genre: EBM/harsh/Dark electro
After one listen to Nohycit's latest offering Sinister, you will quickly realize why it is a perfect name for the album.
Described as "a mechanical beast of ferocious appetite" this one man army from Bolivia, flexes his industrial muscles on his first North American release on Engraved Ritual. Engraved Ritual hits another home run with yet another great signing, Nohycit. Ferry Nohycit began his career in 2010 by releasing two records Exile and Consumed in 2011 on the independent label Deominus Records. Obviously proud of his heritage, he weaves Spanish samples through a forest of dark electro synths, bubbling basslines, slamming beats and metallic sounding harsh vocals. You can easily tell that Ferry was influenced by some of his earlier predecessors like Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy. Though there is nothing new or groundbreaking here, there is something special about Nohycit's sound that will leave you virtually captivated. My only complaint is that it is a very short album of only 6 original tracks and one remix. It is also interesting to note that Ferry's own talented brother Wilger Adeonesis, designed the great artwork for the album. Ferry is involved in another harsh EBM project called Adeonesis who also remixed "Prescription"for the CD as well.
I'm looking forward to hearing what dark terrors Nohycit will conjure up next.
Take a listen now! Nohycit- Fulminado
