“The band was founded by artist/musician Vuxnut, and the current line-up features studio artists Tyler Viscerine of To Mega Therion and Mekanao of Embodi. W.A.S.T.E. currently have 3 studio albums, with multiple remixes and remasters both by themselves, as well as other artists in their genre, including Xotox, Alter Der Ruine, Combichrist, and others.
W.A.S.T.E. has never been about pulling any punches or catering to a specific audience. They have said many times that they make the music they want to hear. It's because of this freedom, that they have garnered quite a following in the underground scene.
Mainstream wants nothing to do with their particular brand of sound and they wouldn't have it any other way. W.A.S.T.E. has managed to stay a prevalent entity not only in the clubs and on the dance floor, but in the minds of all those who have been lucky enough to witness their unforgettable and brutality filled energetic live performances. Led by Shane aka Vuxnut, W.A.S.T.E. has been pounding out their particular blend of audio anarchy for over 10 years. With each new record, they are proving that they aren't slowing down, but only gaining momentum and moving forward. Now with the release "Warlord Mentality” on Vendetta Music, they plan to take the genre to new heights with a crushing and unforgettable mix of rhythmic noise, dark ambient, power electronics, and extremely harsh yet danceable industrial. "Warlord Mentality" only proves this further with the addition of vocals, and even their take on an Offspring cover, which is sure to take the club scene by storm. This act plans to lead us into our fate of entropy screaming and bleeding but loving every minute of it!”
Are We Just Animals
A distinct rumble of noises comes shooting forth like a shrill express train and then hurls itself into a malignant force of passionate rhythmic ignition. A female sampled voice speaks as the sounds turns effervescent in a tirade of potency. It is drenched in ambiance and squalid beats that taunt, tease and immerse the senses with bone-crunching tendencies.
You are your own beast
A clunky clanking of unfaltering beats and squally keyboard rhythms are just phenomenal and spark with immediate effect a dark and sinister brooding not to mention passionate embrace here. Spewing out delicious samples and a plethora of exciting tribal pounding with an equally imaginative lure. My favourite track because of its danceable features and irrepressible rhythms that need further investigation, and at least several more repeat plays - because it simply is THAT good!

Warlord Mentality
An ambient beating intensifies and melts into a haunting temperance of keyboard, soaring with quick intent. The hearty slabs of rhythm delve deep into the psyche and bristle with a sonically charged malevolence adding the odd shout and sample in this thunderous composition.
As The Empty Hours Go By
There are no safety rails here so you teeter on what are cold, dark and desolate footings. It smacks of hostility and brooding, chaotic and havoc ridden its sounds brutalise with a tantalizing flare, great sampled voices and squally rhythms engage and lock into the senses - Bleak now has a new meaning!
Gone Away Feat Jamie Blacker of ESA
A mesmerizing thrill of ambiance paves the way amid eerie keyboard notes. With the thunderous slapping of deep resonating beats that mold themselves around an urgent but sparse vocal. This really plays with the emotions as its jagged rhythms fully ignite with skillful content.
Destroy What Destroys You
Dark and pulsating this track broods a passionate embracing content that sweeps over the ears. The deep and murky beats hit like a heavy fist of iron. The rhythmic disorder can boast large unfathomable depths and its ambiance is far reaching as it climaxes to a malevolent and vitriolic conclusion. – Superb!!
Deadface (Vuxnut Redux)
Sampled voices ring out to more large damming beats that twist, turn and burrow vehemently into the senses. Shadowed with squally but seductive ambiance and powerful ingenuity. The suffocating intensity increases with every enthusiastic rhythm that is thumped out.
No More Feelings
This track literally enthrals sending a dark, eerie and chilling infection down the spine. Ladled with a familiar sample that is then confidently overtaken with pure and utter raging savagery. The swathe of rhythms are 'ear catching' as well as demonic in delivery.
Caveman
The spite continues along with the cold bare ambiance that exudes from its jagged structures. Again samples utter gruesome words to a fiery train wreck of dangerous rhythms that although brutal do hold an extreme gravitational pull amid a crashing beat. Extremely powerful and unwavering!

Kill Something
No restraints – just wild sonically charged fury that in turn unleashes a bubbling rhythmic concoction of spite. The potency grows amid an angry sampled voice that near on takes your breath away. Its edginess grows savaging the aural with perplexing madness.
We Carry These Things Inside Of Us
Haunting and brooding this track is dark and scourging. The rhythms clank and mesmerise with steely charm and fully engage. The tribal beatings are obnoxious although holding a great charge of exploding rhythms that are hard to break away from.
Scream All You Want
Reaching for the outer limits this sonically fuelled structure drones in pure and unadulterated putrefaction. Its fury literally boiling over as the dark edged rhythms intoxicate and stun with no mercy. Drenched in a gnawing ambiance it is bound to leave you scarred from the experience.
Summary:
This album can be described in one word ‘tribal’ because the drumming plays a large part in its content. But done in a way that excites with sadistic pleasurable consequences.
Each track broods with overwhelming passion and engages on all levels. The predation grows darker as each track is played and casts a haunting chill over the proceedings.
It is an unusual album, one that is filled with bone-chilling credibility – its bait bites and draws blood in a bid to consume.
The atmosphere on the whole album is edgy and has a certain ugliness attached to it – although its beauty comes from the excitement you feel as the formidable structures leave their mark on your imagination.
It allows the listener freedom to paint their own dark shadows and richly ignites a powerful tendency to shock and tempt before smothering you in dark choking smoke.
The appetite is hungry and will have the listener running scared as its forces are let loose and abuse the ears with relish. The vocals are fleeting in fact there are more sampled voices to beckon the instincts, however it is the brutal battering of the senses that are at play here.
Hopefully the band will provide us with more tribal offerings in the future. Highly recommended! Prepare to be tazered with electronic wizardry!
