Echo Us- Promo

After listening to this promo. I did not know what to think after hearing all 3 tracks on this cd. Echo Us is put together by Ethan Matthews, a young talented musician who has a history of music. While it seems that Ethan is very creative musicaly.Some of his material is a bit mundane. If I were to put Echo Us in a genre, it would bebest described at contempary electronic pop music. The first track begins with "who loves you." From the begining of the song, it almost sounded like upbeat calypso song, not that I have thing against that. Forsome reason this song reminded me of a Culture Club song, matter fact, this song almost sounds like "do you really want to hurt me? The second track "directed study." This one was more appealing. I liked the beat progression in this song and the short insturmental parts towards the middle of the song.I felt that this song was Echo Us ear grabber. The final track "in the fall." The vocals on this track at first seemed a bit ameuterish. For a minute Ethan's singing sounded a bit stracthy, but as the mood kicks in, his voice begins to clear and everything falls into place. This song was somewhat ok.To be far, I dont want to say that Echo Us is bad. In time, Ethan can improve his singing and also work on his musical flaws. I was expecting a little bit more,but I guese you cant always expect things to be 100%.
