Artist: The Dignity of Labor CD Title: The Diginity of Labor Label: A Different Drum/Kirkophony Music Reviewer:Matt Willis Date: 3-21-06 |
The self-titled 2005 debut release from The Dignity of Labor is quickly catching lots of attention in the world of electronic music. Singer, songwriter, and composer Kirk Taylor; pours pure magic into this limited edition double-disc album. The second disc is full of great remixes from several great artists including Silica Gel and Eloquent to name a few. The album itself locks you in with tracks like “Satellite” and “Hide” which are perfectly crafted and well-written. Because of its airy atmosphere, this album will work well in the car, the coffee house, or in the club. In the song “Relative”, Kirk shows his vocal range by crooning in a falsetto voice. This album would strike the fancy of anyone who longs for synthpop and has catapulted itself to the fore-front of its respected genre with bands like “Leiahdorus” , “Null Device”, and “Neuropa”. This release is limited to 1000 copies so be sure to get this gem into your collection.
