Artist: Provision CD Title: The Consequence Label: Section 44 Reviewer: Matt Willis Date: 3-27-06 |
The highly anticipated release entitled "The Consequence" from the Houston-based electronic trio "Provision" has finally hit the shelves. The album was released by electro-label Section 44 and we here at GC knew it was time to take the album for a spin and explore the musings behind "The Consequence".
The opening track "Ideal" sets the tone and the mood of the whole album, letting the listener know exactly what is in store for them as lead vocalist Breye Kiser's heart-felt vocals appear to glide seemingly effortless over pulsating yet, soft melodies that quickly strike up their signature sound that not only will satisfy electro-pop purists but, will capture the attention of listeners from other genres as well. Other standout tracks include "Attraction" in which the soft spoken words mesh with smooth vocals giving the track a distinctive feel all its own.
The 8th track entitled "Fade" offers the autobiographical approach that we have come to expect from the songwriting style of Provision. Breye pours his heart and soul into a beautiful tribute for his son. This exemplifies why this album is the band’s most polished and emotional piece of work to date; offering the complete package with solid songwriting, brilliant electronic programming & synth-work, solidified with sincere and captivating vocals.
In a world full of rewards and consequences, the album "The Consequence" proves to be a true reward for all listeners.
