Artist: DE/VISION
Title: NOOB
Label: e-Wave Records/Drakkar Entertainment GmbH
The album “NOOB” by DE/VISION is one of the best albums by a band I’ve had the great honor to review this year! I’m in awe, and will continue to be, for a long time coming. DE/VISION has excited my senses, my imagination, and my passion. They are reminiscent of one of my all-time favorite bands Depeche Mode---and DE/VISION has already proven to me, that they deserve to be acknowledged for their artistic achievements in the same breath. I’m so floored, and thrilled beyond my expectations after listening to the deeply moving lyrics, original and lush-sounding music, and for the stunning vocals; handsome, passionate, strong---from which I melted so incredibly satisfied into.
DE/VISION offer-up 12-tracks of super-infused, catchy eclectic beats, and surreal ballads; each one with a story to tell; stories, epic some of them, I found myself compelled to listen deeper and deeper into why it was, I connected toward a particular piece. There’s not, I repeat, not a song on “NOOB” that will disappoint! The only dilemma will be in choosing a favorite---and I can’t do it! (; DE/VISION’S music races and dances with such fluidity and excellence; lyrics, music and vocals are executed with such astute craftsmanship; empowering and heartfelt songs that are eloquent and upbeat, stylish, romantic and haunting among an icy industrial storm of slamming and riveting music that pounds itself into the core of your imagination. DE/VISION’S music is absorbing.
“What You Deserve” that title should be changed to what DE/VISION deserve! This is one of the best songs from any band, I’ve heard in a long time---once you take a listen, you will feel alive! “Obsolete”, “Nine Lives”, “Deep Blue”, “Living Fast Dying Young”, and "The Far Sid Of The Moon” are only a handful of the incredibly gorgeous, and dynamic songs to be heard on “NOOB”.
DE/VISION is a band that has found a home within my heart. If I could get up the nerve, and have my “too afraid to fly” tail feathers get on a plane, I’d be in the front row of their concerts cheering them on. (;
Excited and moved by what I heard on the album “NOOB”, I can’t be clearer as to the impact the music of DE/VISION has on me. Steffen and Thomas, thank you.
