Since 1988, the Lords of Acid have been a powerful force in dance music and positive sexual expression.  Considering the band is currently out on their, Sonic Angel 2011 tour with Angelspit and other various artists throughout the US, Grave Concerns magazine would like to review their most recent greatest hits collection, Greatest T*ts.

Released in 2003, Greatest T*ts covers some of LoA's best known tracks spanning from 1991's  Lust album to 2000's Farstucker as well as some tracks that were originally unreleased in the US.  Kicking off the album is the song Gimme Gimme, which was originally on Private Parts, a European only greatest hits album.  From there the album goes into the 1997 hit Pussy and from there into earlier songs like I Sit on Acid.  While the variety in the chronology of the songs is nice, it can be a bit disconcerting to hear an industrial rock track with a traditional song structure, and then slip back into an early 90's house anthem.

For those who are not familiar with the Lords of Acid's works, this compilation is a good starting point as it showcases all aspects of their music and message such as the  humorous jabs at modern sexuality, with Pussy, Crablouse, or Rubber Doll.  Then there are  raw lust-powered dance anthems like Rough Sex, I Sit on Acid or The Most Wonderful Girl, and lastly the fun and empowered industrial rock tracks like Do What U Wanna Do, Gimme Gimme, or Take Control.   At their core all of the songs encourage listeners to love themselves, be sexual creatures, and dance like no one is watching.

For fans new to Lords of Acid, this album is an excellent primer to the band's sound and message.  Long time fans may only find it a valuable buy if they did not have the previously unreleased tracks on Private Parts.  Either way with a new album in the works, and the current Sonic Angel Tour, Greatest T*ts is a good way to get reacquainted with these legends of dance music.
