Dreams of Dreadnought

The ID's Dreams of Dreadnought is definitely different. It is sort of a mix of glam with electronics. The vocals are slightly distorted, and have a mix of James, meets Jane's Addiction. The vocals can be really fast, and have a charismatic feel. At the same time in a strange way it has a sci-fi sound. "Q" has a good rock feel, with thick distorted guitars. I like the strum of the guitar that took a downward approach. This is a song that takes a lot of twists and turns. This is a guitar driven track for sure. The vocals have a very spoken and raw feel, and explode out several times. "Throw", has calm soft vocals in the beginning, and hasthat whine sound as he hits the higher notes. This sort of reminds me of what you might hear in Radiohead songs. This has a very English sound. The melody has this hypnotic feel as you get into the beat. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks. "Manga -Style", has a little more of the electronics cutting in and out. This has a lot of funky playful sounds that give this song a experimental tone. "Manga -Style is one of those song that has deep bass and distorting guitar while the percussion shows off its flavorful beats. "Manga -Style" is good jam song as this is instrumental. "Interlude" is back to the softer and slower style like you might have heard in "Throw". I tended to like the slower and more -mellow songs on this CD. I liked that style best for this artist. "Dreams of the Dreadnought", is full of flavor and variety. It has a different direction, and influences. If your into being different, and enjoy a different musical spectrum, try some The ID.
