Red Square ( CD)

Dual Monarchy

by Julie J. (Jan 2003)

Red Square is a synth-industrial band that has a coating of gothic as their music does have a darker feel. The synths create the atmosphere as they progress through the songs. The opening track, "All for Him", brings us into the darkness. The synths create a moody darkness, and have a good dance feel for a club. The percussion was a good tempo to bring in the darkness of this song. I like the guitar parts for this song. The come in very strong, and have that industrial feel and distortion. I really like the last few seconds al the song where the synths and guitar came to together. The vocals are good, and shape the music quite well for this track. "All for Him", is a good style for this band. I would like to hear more like this. "The other side" has more of noisy feel, and is harder. It has more of the industrial metal feel. The percussion had the machine gun type of beat. The synths come in to bring in the flash of darkness, and during the break of vocals. This band has the right idea, and I still see some room to grow.
