Stromkern

Re-align ( CD)

WTLL Records

by Julie J. (Jan 2003)

Stromkern is high energy music, if you don't already know. rE-align is the latest concept from them. They have had some help re-mixing songs on this release. First, the Seabound mix kicked things off, honestly. I felt the music was lacking something, and did not match the powerful vocals. It was ok, but not my favorite. After that mix, I was not sure what to think really. I was like ok, next. I was feeling better after the rE -align (Cut. Rate Box rmx) This had a lot more energy. This had a dance feel, and was had a great tempo, and I felt the vocals were so much better, and I felt the emotion. I like the guess vocals from Cut. Rate Box. That definitely was the highlight of the song. It was a good mix, and captured the attention of the listener. "Perfect Sunrise" had more of a metal feel, and more industrial in this song than the more EBM styled re-align. "Perfect Sunrise" had a lot of crunch to it. It had a good rock feel as well. I even liked the vocals better in this song. This was not as dance like as rE-Align. The song, "Perfect Sunrise," was remixed by La Floa Maldita, but it really did not seem like a remix. "Armageddon" was another song more in the vein of industrial dance, and had a edgier feel with the title track. It definitely had the industrial sound effects, and almost a trip-hop feel. The "rE-Align" (Echo virus rxm) had a good dance feel, and was another hit track from the CD. After the third track of rE-align, the vocals are growing on me. "Terrorist", had really funky styled vocals. It was interesting and different. It added a different twist to the album. This song had a thick sound. Overall, it was a strong release of songs, and will leave you waiting for what is next.
