Floodland has blasted back with their new CD Decay. This CD has more gothic sounds that should appeal even more to gothic fans. The sounds are quite powerful, and have a great rock feel mixed with electronics. I really liked the mixed of electronics, especially on the opening track "Enthymeme". It really brings new light to the CD. It was a catchy opening, and left you instantly wanting more. "Dorian", the second track became harder, and was more metal sounding, but still kept a gothic tone. The drumming has a great tone that had a very live feel so far with the two songs. "Morning won't come tonight", took a different step and was more downbeat, but the vocals has more of role in the song where it felt more like a story being performed. "Rainchild", has thick vibrating beats in the beginning, before it breaks into more guitar and rock drive. The keyboards and strings work well during the chorus to give it a more thunderous sound. "Dark Town" starts off very mysterious mood, with the drum and piano and lurking keyboards. This has a dark feel at first, almost a ballad but it picks up more to give the listener a twist. Decay has a lot of dark gothic qualities, and does not over due the metal. I feel Decay has really bloomed, and a stronger release than the first CD overall.
