Italian hellectro/aggrotech band, Alien Vampires, was formed in 1998. Their 2010 album, “Harshlitzer” features 14 tracks. The music is harsh and dark, mixing elements of metal, electro and trance. The band is signed to Alfa-Matrix. “Harshlitzer” is the band’s fourth full-length studio album. The album is also available as a two CD set.The album opens with “No Way Back“ which has a very noise-influenced sound. “Evil Bloody Music” is an unrelenting, noisy slice of electro. “She‘s on Drugs (More Than Me)” is very dance-influenced, but in a uniquely dark fashion. Don‘t be surprised if you see the song on your DJs play list. “See You in Hell” features samples from Charles Manson interviews, it seems like dance-floor material, but is slightly lack-luster. “Industrializer“ is an instrumental track, and one of the more noise-influenced racks on the album. “Before It‘s Too Late“ is a guitar-heavy track, bringing the band’s metal influences to the fore. “Lies” returns to a more dance-oriented  sound, with melodic synths and programming. “Death March” has great sampling, another harsh dance track. “Nothing to Loose”  mixes metal guitar riffing in an electro track, another of the album’s bright spots. Fans of harsh electro will find much to like in the album’s fourteen tracks. There’s a lot of music on this album for sure, and a fair amount of musical diversity. There are a couple throw-away tracks on this album that seem somewhat derivative, but some great floor-stompers as well. Use the comments section to let us know what think.
