American electro act Xiescive has released a self-title EP of five tracks. The tracks on this EP are hard electro, somewhat similar to Diverje. The songs on this EP run a gamut of different industrial styles. The album opens with “Time to Die,” which has a thumping dance beat, and techno-like synth programming. “Subversion” is much along similar lines, with an infectious bass groove and distorted vocals. “Sex, Drugs and Electro” is heavily vocoded and more melodic. The vocals are sung rather than screamed. “Waking Vision” opens with sampling and martial sounding drums. The song climaxes with distorted vocals and swirling programming. “The Crucible Effect” features symphonic sounding synths, and melodic vocals. Fans of hard electro may well like this release, and there’s good reason to expect good from this outfit going forward. Xiescive shows itself to be a versatile act, one that embraces several different sounds on this EP. However the EP manages to be a cohesive, solid release.
