There are artists that manage to combine static beats with a few high pitched sounds and get away with the simplicity, the Polish band Bodycall is not one of them.
At first you think that Andie and Voy are on to something, but after a while you realize that it’s boring and monotone and not in a good way. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just not special in any way and I feel that I have heard this too many times before. The musical parts actually have some peaks, but it always clashes with the distorted vocals that don’t seem to fit together. Maybe it’s just because I think the distortion effects are badly done.
I’m not saying that Bodycall is a lost cause I just think they need to work a bit more and improve. This EP is available for free download at their homepage. So, check it out for yourself and see what you think.
