Reviews CD Reviews (EBM, Electro, Electronica) Minerve- Breathing Avenue

Artist: Minerve
CD Title: Breathing Avenue
Label: Pandailectric
Reviewer: Julie Johnson
Date: June 1st, 2004

After one listen of Breathing Avenue by Minerve I was totally hooked. This CD is very addicting and probably one of the best electronica albums this year. Adding to the fire are the clean vocals and mostly upbeat songs. If you like artists like Covenent or Mesh this is a band for you. The beats just keeping getting better and better as the songs go on. The vocals have an inviting sound in every song. Minerve also does a phenomenal job with creating atmospheric mood with their keyboards and is highlighted “Afraid of Myself”. Another brilliant aspect of this CD is how the band can have many danceable tracks, but their more mellow tracks have just has much power. Songs that I would strongly recommend would be, “Falling,” ”Anitmatter,” “Clear,” “Afraid of Myself,” “ReMind”, and “High Pitched Emotions”. This is one CD that I have not been able to take out of my CD player. This is a must have CD for fans of electronica and synthpop.
