It is not often that I meet people who produce thier own music, let alone create the same type of music that I share a interest in. Some time ago, I was at the local club where I often frequent. I ran into a fellow by the name of Damien who kindly gave me a copy of his demo work. We had a brief chat, then he took off. I was excited to get home and listen to this thing. I should first give some info about Damien's solo project. It called Violent Entity. A dark harsh EBM act that shares some similarities with Suicide Commando. Violent Entity was began in 2002 as a result of Damiens curiosity for various harsh industrial/EBM music. This disc features 4 songs. I was very much impressed by the quality of the music, it amazed me that one person was able to create such intense music. Heres what I felt about Violent Entity. First track "meet your demise," a standard pounding EBM song. The vocals are not distorted, more manipulated by the cyber-craft that Damiens uses. Second track "dark reality," seem to pick up from the first track, for a moment I wasn't sure if this was still the first track. Third track embrace my hate," Another hard hitting track. I really liked the vocal effects on this one. Last track "cold as ice," which probably was my favorite track on the entire demo. For some reason this song stood out more. Over all I liked what I heard. I am very curious to see what else Damien can do with Violent Entity. Apparently Violent Entity has been signed to the German label, Black Rain, home to harsh bands like D/Avantage and Feindflug. So expect a full length Violent Entity album in the fall of this year.
