DVD Review: V: The Series Reviewer: Peter Cooper Date:3-31-10
I just finished watching the DVD collection of V: The Series and was reminded of how much I loved it as a kid. However, now that I am 25 years older I enjoy it even more since my intelligence has developed in all that time. The story picks up right where “The Final Battle” left off. The writing is superb and the acting chops of Michael Ironside and Robert Englund are given more room to work. The best episode in my opinion is “The Conversion” which relegates the normally tough as nails Tyler (Ironside), to a quivering, sobbing and blubbering infant-like state after being put through the conversion chamber. Michael Ironside should have won an emmy for his performance. Diana (Jane Badler) is as evil and sadistic as ever (but still sexy as hell) and we also see more of what the lizards look like completely void of their human guise. V was and still is right up there with Star Wars and Star Trek in my opinion as one of the great science fiction stories of all time. I would recommend picking up the whole original catalogue for those who remember it as well as those who were not even born when it came out. 5/5 stars Pete Cooper- www.facebook.com/pages/Peter-Cooper-Band/103553261084 |
