Hope, the new digital single taken from the debut full-length of Polish electro pop duo NUN, is a strong foray into hook-laden, female-fronted, club-friendly electro fare. Featuring the club edit of the title track as well as remixes of it and three others, the single offers up 23 minutes of well produced, topnotch electro.
The title track, "Hope (Club Edit)" is a spectacularly catchy slice of electro, bouncy electronic bass providing drive for pulsating synth arpeggios and soaring female vocals. Mario Niemann offers up two remixes here, "I Don't Know How (Dance Remix)" being particularly melodic and radio-friendly and "Vision of Life (2Grad Mix)" a lovely, moody offering. People Theatre's remix of "Hope", largely extending the original, is quit strong, while the up-tempo dance of "Here 4 U (Minnerve Special version featuring Daniel Wollatz)" is, perhaps, even more infectious and powerful than the single's a-side.
As a whole, NUN's Hope single is highly worth checking out. Not only is the single itself quite strong, but all four remixes are also uncannily excellent. If this is a taste of things to come, the band's upcoming full-length should prove quite impressive.
