Hailing from Finland, electro-pop 4-piece Flux's Protected is a strong early single that's a bit more instantaneously accessible than the band's other noteworthy 2006 single, Electric Woman. Featured in its original form as well as an instrumental "super size" mix that nearly doubles its length, the single's a-side is a catchy pop gem. Its pulsating electronics and steady rhythm make it perfect for club play, while its memorable melodic synth layers and fitting female vocals ensure it will embed itself in your head. "No More than Alive", slightly recalling early 80s Depeche Mode with its vintage electronics, proves to be a noteworthy b-side that is less immediate but far from weak.
Fans of both 80s synthpop and more modern electro will likely appreciate the band's retro appeal and fetching melodic work on Protected, a stunning single with a title track that screams repeat play and, at the very least, warrants a listen.
