Neuroactive- N-Gin

The long-awaited 5th studio album 2005 release entitled “n-gin” from Finland’s great electro/future-pop band “Neuroactive” has proven itself to be well worth the wait indeed. As a listener, it has been a lot of fun listening to this band’s evolution through experimentation and shaping of their sound over the past decade and a half. This release continues that trend in some of it’s aspects but, is ground-breaking in its very own way. The album opens with a very solid track in “ Short Term Memory”, providing great electronic programming and solid vocals to get the album off and running. Another stand-out track is entitled “Dreams that Were Near Me” which feature guest vocals from a well respected name in synth-pop circles, Nate Nicholl of B! Machine. In fact this album is comprised of several lead vocalists including Viktor Ginner of Rupesh Cartel and Carlene Bachman from Blind Faith Envy to name a few which makes the album a lot of fun. Having outside vocalists has become a trademark of the band over the past few albums. This proves to be a positive practice for the world of electro-pop as it turns the listener on to other bands in the scene. Well crafted from start to finish,This album has a place as one of their best releases to date and is not likely to be passed up by all the synthpop purists among us.
