Ganymede

Falling EP (CD)

Ninthwave Records

Keeping their sound bubbly and tranquil the new Falling EP by Ganymede hits all the right beats. The EP contains eight tracks, which include remixes and new tracks. The CD starts off with a remix of Are You Falling In Love Again?" , but in my eyes that is not the high light of the album. It is a good start off since Are You Falling In Love Again?", is a good song, but Legacy (club mix) really gets the album going. I feel Legacy is a stronger song over Euromantique. Legacy is a good dance track. I like the beats with the good bass within. I like the tempo they have build for these beats. It really is perfect, especially with the vocal style. The beats in Legacy move you right along. I would like to see this song even stepped up a notch for even more danceable grooves. "Somehow" takes it back a little to a slower more ballad type song. The vocals have sort of a "rap" like feel in the beginning, but blends into a more romantic soft style. The beats are fairly delicate, and leave you with a relaxing feel from the main melody. "Never is Forever" jumps back and is back to the more upbeat songs, and keeps the smooth vocals. I like that the vocals are not over used. I like the little distorted robotic vocals with the singer sings, "Never is Forever". The next song I was not familiar with, which is of a synthesizer pioneer Vangelis with a cover of "Don't Be Foolish." I really got into this song a lot. I like the music. It was bubbly and had a nice groove. I thought the singing was really good too. I am not sure how the song is originally but the cover sounded like it would have been a popular. The rest of the album now goes in the direction of remixes. I will let you know that one of my favorite mixes is of "Legacy" the truth is out there mix by simulator. Again, I don't feel the remix of Are You Falling In Love Again?", was the highlight of this EP. The Falling EP is a good showing of where Ganymede is, and what is to come in the future.
