Hailing from Italy, Helalyn Flowers blend clever electro beats with crushing metal riffs, and throw in a bit of worldly spice with Noemi’s impressive vocals. “Disconnection” is a fine introduction into this duo’s diverse sound. The entire record gives off a sexy, intense vibe.

Opening with “Acid Love Code,” a progressive, heavy track with some ambient arrangements. While the record seems to have both metal and electro elements in equal parts, it still feels more like an electro record. They remind me a lot of Lunarclick, or The Birthday Massacre, but still retain a sound all their own. “Disorder” is another really strong track, with soaring vocals and excellent programming to balance it out. “Amnesia”, the final and more mellow track, uses heartfelt vocals and echoing shrieks to really round out the record.

It’s an intoxicating blend of different sounds and musical elements, and more importantly it is a very diverse record. Excellent in both production and mixing, which is great to see from an independent band. They already enjoy a rapid-growing fanbase, and I definitely recommend this amazing record to anyone looking for some new electro-rock!
