On Waldgeist, the Acylum gang joins forces with Totem Obscura on the Alfa Matrix label. We know Acylum as a productive duo, who have collaborated with numerous other musicians, and sprouted solo-projects along the way as well.

On the Waldgeist EP, we get 2 tracks, “Waldgeist” and “Dead Snow”, plus remixes (5 tracks in total, 21 minutes worth of music). Totem Obscura vs Acylum describe themselves as “ a new sound entity that bridges morbid harsh elektro with melancholic and mystic orchestrations, acting like zombies playing haunted tunes in a graveyard. Oppressive, bombastic and noir, Totem Obscura awake the dark spirits for the ultimate dance of the dead.”

The tempo on Waldgeist EP is rather slow – and this adds to the creepy atmosphere of the recording. The freaky vocals on “Dead Snow” certainly make it an even more haunting track.
