Having been together now for over 33 years hasn't softened Die Krupps by any stretch of the imagination. Following up their 2010 full length release "Als Waren Wir Fur Immer" and their 2012 digital single "Industrie-Madchen", we now see Die Krupps looking forward as well as backwards on their latest 3 track single, "Risikofaktor" (translated as 'Risk Factor'). Jurgen Engler, Chris Lietz and company have dropped a new track that is an EBM monster that starts a little slowly but ends up delivering what everybody wants to hear! It had me dancing around on my first run through and I am super excited to hear what their upcoming full length sounds like. As mentioned this single also looks back a bit with a new remix by Leaetherstrip of 'Zwei Herzen, Ein Rhythmus" which was originally on their 1982 album "Volle Kraft Vorus". Claus updates this track and takes it in a more "synthpop" direction which is another win in my book. I'm not a huge fan of live albums or live tracks (but that's just my personal taste) but the last track on the single is a live version of "Der Amboss" which apparently was taken from the 2011 Amphi Festival in Cologne Germany. This track highlights the Die Krupps guitar sound that we have all been accustomed too and also was a track that showed up on the Client album, "Untitled Remix" so it's a little odd of a choice to be covered live by DK. All in all a solid release that will tide me over for just a little longer while I await the new full length album. 4 out of 5 stars, if you are scoring at home.
