In 2005, after two very dark and bruiting releases (My Sculpture 2002, and This Decent 2005,) Lexincrypt decided to throw in the towel to focus on more pressing life matters. I did not listen to those two previous releases until just today, however they are equally as brutal and honest as Lexincrypt's newest release Of Unsound Mind. After joining forces with a new label – Crunch Pod Records – and rejuvenating the aggression behind This Decent, Lexincrypt brings a wide arrange of tracks.

The first Lexincrypt song that I heard was Scar Tissue (Mangadrive Remix), which had been posted from label head Ben Arp's Facebook page. The Mangadrive remix, out on the album's single Scar Tissue, is a hard hitting club version of the otherwise slow and methodical sound that is Lexincrypt. Deep down I am a club kid at heart, so of course it played to my fancy. I went to the Crunch Pod website and was able to listen to Of Unsound Mind all the way through and it definitely appealed to my darker side.

Tracks like Let Me Die remind me of older Xorcist, if Karloz from Manufactura raped it with a Boss SE-50. Speaking of Karloz, he performs a guest appearance on the closing track The November Process, which brings me back to the Presence: The Here and Now days. Overall it was a very nostalgic album for me personally. I would suggest Of Unsound MindScar Tissue, because that had me hooked the first time I heard it.
