Beer and Ribs is the single released by Falcon (ex-Circle). As Falcon, these Finnish musicians explore soft rock and AOR.

If you're confused by the change from Circle to Falcon and back around, Jussi Lehtisalo has the following to explain: “From 1991 through 2013, FALCON operated under the name of Circle. The need for the sudden name change arises from the Circle brand’s becoming somewhat of a burden due to the expectations of EKTRO RECORDS and audiences. Making music was turning into work and an obligation. The Circle brand has been leased to a group of artists, who are currently working on the next Circle album. The full-lengths of both FALCON (ex-Circle) and Circle will be released later this autumn. The current plan is that the lease contract dissolves by the end of 2013 and the Circle brand will be returned to FALCON, who then may continue under the name Circle (ex-Falcon). All Circle concerts booked for 2013 will be performed by Circle‘s longstanding lineup: Mika Rättö, Janne Westerlund, Jussi Lehtisalo, Tomi Leppänen, Pekka Jääskeläinen, Julius Jääskeläinen, Tuomas Laurila.” 

The single Beer and Ribs contains only 2 tracks, in total 8 minutes of music. We hear all the cliches of soft rock, with lots of synthesizer and “mean” vocals.

Falcon take all elements of poppy cheesy rock to an extreme so they show how much of a gimmick this is, but they don't seem to mind it at all and revel in the cheesiness. However, with so many cliches, Beer and Ribs seems to miss its goal – and results in half-baked songs which I'd rather forget. “Beer and Ribs” might double as a biker-anthem, while “Sunset Street” is a cheesy cheesy ballad.

The full CD of Falcon will be released later this year, but I don't think it will cause a musical landslide. Too much cheese on those Beer and Ribs.
