Now not being a black metal fan as such, I can’t help but say this album is pretty decent, hailing from Sweden, Avsky have produced a black metal album with so many atmospheres, and it almost brings out the trve kvltness from Varg Vikernes’ past, although he is Norwegian, Avsky offer the same kvlt equivalent as the Norwegian lad.

Signed to Moribund Records, this duo BM band is Sweden’s underground answer to Satyricon, and this release is true kvlt. The rawness is paramount as is the music, it’s so atmospheric that it’s the sort of music put on at a funeral.

48 minutes of pure Swedish black metal is eclipsed by the file sizes, all but one song is above 10 megabytes, with the highest peaking at 20.1 megabytes, but with that comes trve kvltness with the length of it, at 9 minutes 51 seconds, rather apt for underground black metal, where the darkest prayers are made, in Satanic form, however this is not a satanic band, instead the lyrics are ‘darkness’, ‘evil’ and ‘hate’.

More of the common lyric genres for black metal, hence the evil surrounding the genre, but as Avsky shows, it isn’t all screeching that many non-metal fans seem to label not just black metal as, but metal in general. This is true music, a kvlt classic beyond mere mainstream trash that is fed to us by the public radios, this band proves one point: ‘metal is for those with an aptitude for deeper meanings to music in life’.

Buckle up, when you prepare to face, ‘True Swedish Black Metal’.
