Artist: Bleed From Within CD Title: Empire Label: Rising Records Reviewer: Rhys Stevenson Date: 5-31-10 Bleed from within are a melodic deathcore quintet act from the Scottish city of Glasgow. These burly Glaswegians serve us their second winning strike dubbed ‘Empire’, combining the melodies of death metal and the grittiness of deathcore extremeness. Pummelling drums are the base of this fury clan, next in command is the guttural whisky-laden vocals and highland guitars. So much for auld lang syne and hogmanay, bleed from within dish out their own haggis, soaked in metal and doused with the blood and sweat of this feisty five-some. Slice open the larynx and pour some fuel into it for a pyrotechnic to set alight, the brutality of this band surpasses that gruesome ordeal and presents its own torture, pleasant torture. So instead of being shot and letting the blood flow freely, after this you will definitely ‘bleed from within’.For fans of Whitechapel, JFAC, Bleeding Through. www.myspace.com/bleedfromwithin 10/10 Rhys Stevenson |
