Artist: Crimson Falls
Album: The True Face of Human Nature
Label: Shiver Records

What happens when you form a death metal band with people that have roots in the hardcore scene? You get just another boring deathcore band. I was just starting to get used to Shiver Records decent lineup and then I listened to this. Not to discredit the label, sometimes it happens. I really didn't care for this album. Crimson Falls are a band from Belgium that formed back in 2002. After a couple lineup changes, they found their new vocalist in Wim Jacobs. He used to front another Belgium band named Legion that played a mix of thrash and hardcore. Wim's vocals are ok at times, I just don't like this style of music. The guitarists Ringo and Kristof seem to handle their instruments fine, as do Sigi on drums and Tom on bass. I will say that the music on the twelve tracks presented here is well played and if you like this style of metal then maybe you would dig "The True Face of Human Nature", it's just not an album that interested me at all musically.  I would probably recommend this album to fans of The Red Chord, Killwhitneydead or Suicide Silence.
