From the country that gave us bands like Rotting Christ and Varathron, Greece now gives us Dodsferd. Dodsferd is the work of one man calling himself Wrath. Taking more from the early Norwegian scene than his fellow countrymates, Dodsferd's brand of black metal has been described as Black 'n Roll by many including his label Moribund. It's definitely fitting to the first two tracks "Die In Pain" and "...And Disease Was Spread In A Matter Of Minutes", but the rest of "Fucking Your Creation" is furious black metal similar to early Darkthrone and Satyricon. Wrath handles all instruments except for drums, which I believe he used a session drummer for. He has proven himself here as more than competent on guitar, mixing hyper-speed blasts with punk infused riffs giving the music an atmosphere of pure evil. His raspy shrieks and screams fit the music perfectly, giving you the feeling of hate and agony. Like I said, I'm not sure who was used for the drums but he handles them adequately. In a time when everyone has their own shitty one man black metal project, Dodsferd definitely stands out as one of the best. Even if it didn't come with the limited edition Moribund "Death Cult" sampler, I would have no problem buying this album.
