Artist: Onslaught
Album: Killing Peace
Label: Candlelight Records

After a 15 year hiatus, legendary UK thrashers Onslaught are back! “Killing Peace” is a blistering thrash attack from one of the veterans in the field. Sy Keeler does a killer job and I’m glad to see that he’s back and not Steve Grimmett. Maybe I was used to hearing him on the Grim Reaper albums but, Steve’s vocals never sounded like they fit in with Onslaught’s sound. Nige Rockett and Al Jordan on rhythm and lead guitar respectively, rip through riff after riff at breakneck speeds. They do play some slower death parts though that fit in quite well actually. Jeff Williams on bass and Steve Grice on drums do an excellent job of laying down the rhythm. This is thrash metal played the old way from one of the godfathers of the genre. “Killing Peace” is an excellent album with nine tracks that prove Onslaught hasn’t lost a step even after all the years apart. A must have for fans of old school thrash metal!
