Artist: Coffins/Cyanide
Album: 7” Split
Label: Famine Records

This is a decent 7" split from Famine Records with Japanese sludge/death metallers Coffins and Chicago's death metal legends Cianide. The first track is “Countless Grave” from Coffins and it's clear to see that these guys have definitely gotten better at what they do. Uchino, You and Koreeda play through a wall of distortion with sick tortured vocals and sludge doom in the vein of disEMBOWELMENT and Grief while sometimes going on Hellhammer like tangents.

The opposite side is “The Wrath of Daimajin” by Cyanide who've always stuck to their original sound. Mike Perun, Scott Carroll and Andy Kuizin, if you didn't know already, play mid-paced death/doom metal. It gets a bit repetitive at times but overall “The Wrath of Daimajin” is a heavy track that you can easily bang your head to. Overall, this is a good split by two veterans of the death/doom world. This split is pretty much sold out but if you can find one it's worth the money to check it out.
