The Elfman create nu- metal that tends to be little more up-tempo, and faster guitar playing during the main chorus parts. They also have blended some electronics into their music like in the song "By Myself". They singer has mid range vocals, and the vocals have a lot of energy and have more of an angst feel to them, especially in the opening track "Why don't you say". The second song has a more mellow beginning with the guitar and drums really standing out. The vocals during the main chorus become strong, and remind me more of the styling of Korn at times, and again in the song "For You". I did hear lots of melodies, but they were not has catchy as I would of liked for this band. This CD took a little longer to get into. It was gothic metal, but it sounded more like gothic metal with P.O.D, KORN, and Papa Roach influences. I thought "Hold Out," and "Raggedy Ann" were a couple of their better songs on the CD. It did not feel like they were trying to be like somebody else. It was definitely and interesting recipe of music and has a few different styles in the mix.
