What isn’t there to love about Anders Manga? Breaking into the music scene in early 2005 they have been creating a buzz around the Goth, Industrial EBM scene. In 2005 they released their debut album, “One of for the Dying”, which give us plenty of hit singles like “Solitary Heaven” and “Shiver”. They were also one of the headlining acts on Goth Stock and they played for the Dracula’s Ball. Lets just say 2005 was an excellent year for the band to say the least. Just two weeks into the 2006, Anders Manga has released their follow-up album “Left of an All- Time Low” on January 13th, 2006, which is equally solid and delivers what people are looking for thanks to Anders and new member Sco. Anders Manga balances dark EBM melodies and Goth which delight the listener, especially with tracks such as “This Circle” and “Empire On the Sun”. These two tracks have smooth danceable electronics and thick gothic tones that make Anders Manga who they are, great! What I noticed with this album is that it seems to have had some added heaviness to the music. Other tracks like “Mutiny” continue the thick gothic layers and atmospheric keyboards, but this track is not as danceable like the others. “Mutiny” sort of had an experimental feel which was different and not what you might expect from the band. A lot of background sounds and manipulation of the electronics took place during “Mutiny”. A cover of Mercyful Fate’s, “Gypsy” shows up on this album and they have made it into a dark danceable anthem, which again highlights their defining quality of dark EBM and gothic tones. “Bloodletting on the Kiss” was another song that seemed to be slower paced track with dark atmospheric tones with beautiful dark passionate and seductive vocals. Don’t be fooled with the slower paced track because they have added a killer danceable beat that highlights the chorus, which continues as a powerful ending. You will love the thick intense gothic atmosphere throughout “Bloodletting on the Kiss” which is already getting noticed by many DJ’s around the scene. “Glamour” takes on a different angle. This song has more distortion built into the vocals and is little more sinister and raw. If you had to compare it would in the vein of Marilyn Manson. On that note what I like about Anders Manga is that yes you could compare them to who ever is you needed to compare, but they are the real deal and they are not Manson clones or trying to be someone else. Anyways, back to the music, and the next track like I said that caught my attention was “Glamour”. It is dark, sinister and danceable, perfect for you. So many good tracks on “Left on an All- Time Low”, and if you are familiar with “Solitary Heaven”, you will find songs equally as good, and one of those tracks would be “Bad Girls go to Hell”. It is fun and catchy, memorable, 100% dark EBM, outstanding use of vocals, and will be a definite club hit. After listening to Anders Manga, there is no turning back, instant addiction. Anders Manga will and should be requested often. Recommended Tracks: “Bad Girls Go to Hell” “This Circle”, “Empire On the Sun”, “Innocence End” “Glamour” and “Character in Charm”. Just listen to the whole album, it is all great! I hear the band is already in the works on their next CD and you can hear about it in our interview with the band only on www.graveconcernsezine.net where they band breaks exclusive news about a new member.
