Originator from Sweden have released their debut album Ingen Dager Synes Än. Their sound is a stretched out version of electronic rock, with here and there a dash of spaghetti western soundtrack.
While shrouded in mystery about their band members and musical direction, they define their music with the following lines: “In opposition to the everyday time vampire. Hovering the pit of our lost ideals and our option to regain dignity. What was left and what is right? Do you connect to your inside?
Can you connect to your inside?”
Musically, Originator follows the lines of bands such as iLikeTrains, Editors and Interpol, although instead of mixing electronics and rock, Originator mixes gothic rock with electronics.
The result is a catchy, yet creepy type of music. On the second track “Solution”, the vocalist keeps crooning the line “got too much love” and I find it so creepy I want to run away.
If you are curious about a blend of electronic music with gothic rock that results in something that is catchy yet uber-creepy at the same time, check out Originator's Ingen Dager Synes Än. They might be showing us gothic music of the future.
