The Awakening “Darker Than Silence” Intervention Arts
“The newest outing from Ashton Nyte and his outfit. The band hasn’t let up for any air nor have they opted to go for a more commercial route as the music’s only gotten sturdier and seems less concerned with the dance floor. The Awakening have written extremely robust songs with enough tangibility that seems to have been absent from much of the goth rock genre for sometime. With bellowing guitars that cut like shards of glass, deep vampiric vocals, and peeling away all the flirty glam poutiness without loosing their seductive edge, stand out tracks include “One More Crucifixion”, “The Needle and the Gun”, “Frozen Icon”, “Angelyn”, “Armageddon Style”, “Self”, “The Chosen”, “Animal”, etc. This album has clearly marked The Awakening into a new musical chapter that will find them pushing their sound ten fold. The scene looks bright and promising with enthusiastic bands of this caliber. Their opening the hinges of something really spectacular here. Highly recommended to fans of Paradise Lost, The Cult, Umbra et Imago, etc.” –Marcos, USA
