Artist: [Lamia] CD Title: [Dark Angel] Label: [Black Rain Records] Reviewer: [Marcos] Date: [9-03] |
“Argentineans Lamia releases their full length album full on Ebm gothic dance aesthetics w/ jaw dropping operatic female vocals & even while they’re style may be comparable w/ scene favorites like France’s Die Form or the more German Blutengel & Qntal, the sound & ideals heard on “Dark Angel” is all their own w/ classical music splashing into the more apocalyptic realm of dreary electronics w/ sampling bubbling up here & there behind the delectable stomping grounds of Juan’s programming w/ the distinctly stunning angelic vocals of Claudia, scarring this duo a winning combination that will no doubt lead Lamia into the annals of the dark music scene forefront, leading the new generation of Darkwave acts to come. I must totally recommend this cd to all dj´s because of the fact much of the material is dance floor friendly yet they never comes across as industrial harsh noise but more soothingly beautiful all the while dark & seductively infectious. The more serene, neo classical passages are even more splendid in this writer’s opinion! Look out for these guys!” www.blackrain.de]
