Another gothic/alternative rock band that is what you can call “The Pussybats”. There, I finally got it of my chest, but seriously there is nothing original or new about this band.“The Pussybats,” are releasing their debut album called “Famous Last Songs” which is a mix of ballads and typical gothic rock songs, think “Type O Negative” “and H.I.M” etc, but with bad vocals.A funny thing is when I read their biography and read about their influences (Placebo, Backyard Babies and Motörhead) but,“The Pussybats,” are just another rip off of bands like those I mentioned without anything new to add except, bad vocals and uninspiring lyrics about heartache and darkness. The singer's voice reminds me a bit about the lead character in the movie “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” with the typical “German English”. I have forced myself to listen to this album a couple of times to see if my feelings change, but sadly, no. The music for some of the songs is pretty nice and the lead singer sounds decent on some parts on some songs. Well, about 20% of the lyrics and vocals are good on this album, but that doesn't cut it at all. If you are going to listen to this album then you got “Your Woman” (which by the way is a cover from some 90ies one hit wonder), “In April” and “No Romeo”. If they change their music for the next CD and evolve into more personal sound and if the singer takes singing lessons I think this band could go far. But right now they just fall hard.
