Reviews CD Reviews Gothic Avaritia- Pulse (Review 2)

  Artist: Avaritia
CD Title: Pulse
Label: Equinoxe Records
Reviewer: Marcos
Date: 5-´04

“The new mini album from this up & coming northern German band that’s earned much attention across Europe & is already a club friendly act in London; the duo of Dorit Karstedt & Mathias Dopp write very melodic rock w/ layered structures of emotional pop bliss along roaring, gothic rock guitars. Naturally, this would be very appealing to fans of female fronted bands like Mephisto Walz, The Dreamside, or Excession. Produced by Rolf Kirschbaulm of The Sound & Chameleons UK fame, “Pulse” shows plenty of promise w/ songs that are quite radio friendly & definitely shows much promise in things to come, therefore Avaritia are certainly worth investigating into. Some of their more shining moments come out in songs like “Day’s Like This”, “Summers Gone”, “Hour Glass, & “Your Inability”.”]
