"Awesome double cd from this great European band! The first disc is live material that showcases them in all their raw & angst driven glory. An influential discharge of Post Punk war cries assailed by a New Wave whirl that guiltlessly feeds upon the spirit. In the second passage of "Permanent Illusions" they break into a bleak, trancey ceremonial soundscape that´s hypnotic & spacey w/ faintingly teasing riffs of the guitar. This is recommended to all bands! When playing live, experimental break in´s are a must because they really keep things interesting! The last passage in "Permanent Illusions" recalls a more frantic Ian Mcculloch. Other favorites include "Nothing Stays Forever", "Pandora´s Calling", "Waste", "Zero Men", & "A Song For The Radio" that fortunatley is present here in it´s rocking, extended jam out version where the vocal´s alter in a cacaphony of dizzying darkness w/ the frenzied dark rock. The live sound is over the top & contains no overdubs & should be played at max volume. Disc two´s titled "Velvet Suggestions" & contains demo, b-sides, rare, & previous songs from their eight year career. Empyreal guitars & psychadelic soundscapes neighboring alongside romantically dejected aesthetics that should win over most fans of Projekt & those into harder Gothic rock. Stand out songs are "The Night Turns", "Rain", "Train", "Never Go", "November (live ´98)", "Old Days (demo ´97)", "Child (demo ´97)", & "Falling (demo ´97)". Highly recommended!!"
