Jack Frost caught my attention right away. The band really has a great sound mixing gothic and metal together. The music is filled with melodic riffs, and catchy anthems. The music is played at the perfect tempo, and they have just the right progressions, which are placed at just the right time. "One Hundred Percent Pain", has awesome bass present along with the hammering drums and the great guitar that is a driving force. The vocals are great, and perfect tone. This guy can really sing. This song also has excellent melody and catchyness during the chorus. I like also how the vocals overlapped in this song with 2 different levels. "One Hundred Percent Pain," is such a great gothic metal track on this CD. "The Dance", is another high level track with mid-tempo feel and that classic catchyness from the band. The guitar has this wonderful execution and drive, especially during the guitar solo. The bass and drums give the song its over all gloom and doom feel. The vocals again are amazing and have so much character for the song. The chorus is catchy and melodic. "Some You", has a more downward progression, and the deep vocals work wonderful here, and captures the mood. I like the vocal effect done through the more mellow part of the song. There are eight tracks on this CD, and I really could not find a bad song. This is a really well done CD for Jack Frost, and makes me hungry for more. This is what gothic metal is all about!
