Fall Away
Some Wear Leather
In Tenebris mixes electronic gothic elements and lush ethereal atsmospheres to create a realm of darkness. The female vocals are angelic and lush, while the synths create a moody atmosphere. The music has dark orchestration, and big drum beats, especially in the opening track "bedlam." The second track into the CD picks up in tempo and the guitar gets a work out while the synths slowly seep into. When the vocals start the intro guitar part subsides and the more medium drumbeat takes over to give the big guitar part a slight rest before they kick in again. The vocals are high and give this more upbeat song with a rock edge ethereal quality. "In these Silences", has a slower feel with more rich gothic tones. I like how this song blends both male and female parts. The male vocals really had a nice gothic sound. This was a nice tone for the CD. This song also had a powerful ballad feel too, and I like the triangle jingle to it. "Fear to Breathe", had nice dark synths that helped build up to the explosive breakout of the guitars and bass. This song really rocked, and the vocals had good transitions, and were not as high sounding. This is probably by favorite track on this CD. "Old", was another great song with up tempo beats, good gothic guitar sounds, and drum programming. This song also rocks, but I would of liked to hear more male vocals alone on this track, and the female vocals were a tad high maybe for the music, but still a very good effort.
