May You be in Heaven (CD single)
Actcom Music
Review by Julie Johnson
Two Witches are back with an explosive dark single "May you be in Heaven". The vocals are dark, and take on 2 ranges from the low baritone style to the more reaching out vocals during the chorus. There is even some spoken type word patterns. The synth work is sinister, and lurking like we have all grown to love from Jyrki Witch. I like the mix of ancient sounds and bells mixed into the sinister walls of sound. The song has great gothic metal sounds, and thick bass. The guitars are crashing and are hard. Also on this single there is a remix of "The dark Angel of Sin by Soil &Eclipse that is a good club track. Even with the Soil & Eclipse remix work, there is still a lot of Two Witches influence. I was pleasantly surprised to see how the 2 bands have come together with this mix. You will also hear "The Angel of Pain" live version from one of the live shows in Mexico City. This is a really well live recording, good levels, and energy. There is also a live version of "Wintertime". So, for a single of "May you be in Heaven" you really get a lot more. A nice way to deliver to fans, a new song, 2 live songs, and a remix.
