Where the Echos End creates dark melodies that will carry you into the moonlight. The CD starts of with "Make up your Mind" which has a dark trip-hop vibe. The singer's voice reminds me of Shirley Manson of Garbage. She has a nice strong voice to carry with the music. The programming is smooth, and has a nice pop feel. I really like the clean recording sound of the song. "It's My Advantage", vocals more aggressive which is working well with the mix of electronics that seem to be stepped up a little bit more. There is a steady drumbeat, and glass like sounds, with funky textures swirling around. The beats on this track bring out a different sound then the first track. . "Curse your Kind," starts with a slower beginning. Her vocals in this song extend out, and have a more- higher pinch with an elegant touch. This song also has a good tint of gothic with the programming, giving his song a creepy effect. I liked the sound of breathing out around the voice. "One Silver Dollar, " has a good electro beginning where I could see this song taking off in a club. This song has a very devilish sound with the laugher in the beginning of the song. I like the twisted vocal robotic effect with this song. I like the synths that build up in the background of the song that you may not notice. Another song that works out great for this CD is "Romantic Fiction" that sounds very upbeat and playful. Sort of reminds me of an Electro No Doubt without the SKA influences. "Jesus Stole My Love" has powerful vocals, and strong programming especially the drum programming that give the song an overall beauty. "Anyone Out there" is has a nice dark feel, and more edge with the programming and bass sounds. The song has a nice funky feel surrounded by creeping synths and a little blurpy sound here and there. So, you can expect from Where the Echos End a little bit of ethereal, electronica, space age, trip-hop, funk to fill your listening desires. (jj)
