Beth Bradley, of Gifts in Secret, is a siren of bewitching vocals and angelic-folk softness. Her silky layered voice echoes enchantment, purity, confidence, and calming freshness, all of which, easily found a place in my heart to welcome in her comfort, warmth, and the beauty of her world created. Complimenting her wistfulness and gentle songbird technique, is her husband, Michael Riddick, a stunning musician, and owner of Fossil Dungeon, whose own talent comes through with sparkling uniqueness, craftsmanship, and passion. Gifts in Secret, and their debut album, “Lilies at the Doorway”, is a remarkable album which showcases the “gifts” of how voice and music…stories, which are harnessed together in perceptiveness and respect, and the clear pallet from which they work on.

“Reaching” (this, I think, may be my VERY favorite song…it’s incredibly beautiful, filled with such paper-soft vocals and exquisite melodies. “Lilies at the Doorway” and “Left Alone”…the lovely way the vocals and the music connected with one another is so pretty to visualize my own interpretations. “Few Words”, “Please be Strong”, “I Don’t Want You to Go”, “ We Go Back a Long Time”, have such emotion; stories, which made me, reflect upon my life…and I feel the touched by them. And then there is the hauntingly gorgeous--- perhaps, sobering instrumental piece “Silent Song”, then, with the final song, “Endings”, bringing the album to a charming, peaceful and melodic close…with the promise, I hope, for more.

Gifts in Secret’s, debut album, “Lilies at the Doorway”, is an ethereal haven; a lush and tranquil maze which has been delicately cared for, and given a beautiful platform from which the singer and the musician can work in artistic unity, thus, opening their world to us…their listeners.
