Hailing from Australia, Temple of Tears brings full throttle electronics and dark overtones to the world. If you had to think of a band with similar comparison it may be Covenant, but definitely not a clone. It is nice to see another band from Australia getting the job done. I am not sure how much exposure they have received in the U.S. yet but, you missing out but no excuse now because you know about them and you should check them out. The opening track “Miasma” is very catchy and grabs the listener first thing with their strong EBM melodies. What I liked about Temple of Tears is its personal approach and meaningful lyrics right down to the title of the band. The bands carefully crafted songs makes the album more then just an album but a journey through personal experimentation and feelings. The most emotional song for me for listening to the album would be “Shattered”, which you could interpret many different ways but sets the tone for the album and the band during the time of recording. Another song that you can relate to is “Chronicle”, when you pay attention to the words like, “Look inside I’m not Alright”, or I tried I really tired”. It is vocal delivery on this track, especially at the end that is reminiscent of Covenant. Miss. Ferox is another added addition to the CD at times and she added sexy vocals to tracks like Core. Both, Jason Ares vocals and Miss. Feroxes vocals blend nicely to create dark powerful vocals. Again, this is a passionate album beneath the solid EBM hooks. So many times you listen to an album and the lyrics are just there but here the lyrics mean so much more. Hands down, this is one of the best Australian EBM acts to follow along side of bands like Angel Theory or Tankt. Other recommended tracks would be: “Arrow (Enemy Mix)”, “Anti –Fracture”, “Fallen” and “The Day that you Died” again another song anyone can relate to if you know someone who has died. Congratulation’s Temple of Tears for making smart sensitive dark electronic music.
