Velvet Acid Christ has kept a low profile lately. His last release was 2003's Hex Angel and the release of the Between the Eyes collections. Other than that, it was unclear if VAC was ever going to return. With the release of the Wound single, VAC is back to give a preview of his new album. The single offers five tracks. "figurehead" is classic VAC, with its slow rhythms and errie atmosphere. The two remixes of "wound" give the song a whole new feeling. I really liked the legacy of revolution mix, which had different vocals and the vivisectvi mix was a interesting instrumental version of the track. The one track I enjoyed the most was "ghost regen." It reminded me of Fun with Knives era VAC and is a perfect dance track. Overall not a bad single, I just hope the full album will be as pleasant.
