Biography:

UK Hardcore/Breakbeat artist/DJ Simon Carter's first encounter with the EBM/industrial scene made him want to launch a new project and break some more music boundaries. He found in Australia's Lawrie Masson (STUDIO-X) the right partner in crime to come up with something different and cutting-edge. Their first EP "Gone Together Again" is the perfect example of 2 artists enjoying the merge of genres and not being scared to upset the more traditional folks out there in the dark electro scene! All formatted for the dance floors these 4 vocal songs reveal a wide sonic spectrum evoking the unexpected mix of OZARK HENRY singing FRONT 242 or yet ANNE CLARK on hard dance beats heavily fusing techno trance ingredients that STUDIO-X are famous for. A strongly recommended catchy uplifting sonic experience bridging hard electro dance with dark electro pop.

Gone together again

Gurgling into being this holds a fantastic beat with stupendous rhythm that in turn carries serious intent. The vocals are soft, yet crisp and addictive. The melodies are quirky and haunting although not haunting in the eerie sense but very well executed and poignant warranting several repeat plays.

Say my name

Thunderous bulbous beats will mesmerise as its powerful rhythms come crashing around your ears. The vocals are quite sharp and with the fantastic array of pulsing and savage grooves attached make for one exceptional hypnotic dance track. All you need now are the glow sticks!!

Truth – (Kant Kino Remix)

Hard, punchy grooves literally plough through the aural with fierce rabidity with a strong rasping vocal, the kind that gets you in the gut with the vibrations from the speakers add a touch of sharp little synth keys and the ‘Truth’ is revealed. Yet another superb dance track that more than delivers with crisp melody.

Gone together again – (Electrovot Remix)

Electro turned hard core! Backbreaking intense and sub-sonically charged with emotive rhythms and add a whispered vocal it fights fire with ferocity and comes out kicking!

To Sum up:

An awesome dance E.P with more groove and biting rhythm than you know what to do with. The worse thing about this E.P is when it finishes. I am already on my sixth play it’s just so addictive. For a debut E.P this is just stunning – already wondering what the next one is going to sound like and if it is anything like this one it will simply blow you away! Revelling in digital mastery here are four tracks that won’t stay ‘un-played’ for long!

10/10
