Using a quote from their own PR “The dawn always keeps secrets” referencing the perilous transition from the night to the day.”  Augenlict by The Mystery of Dawn their latest CD, is an ambitious yet extremely personal guided tour of our planet, during its twenty four hour from dawn to dusk and back rotation.  The past, present, and future elements of space and time are mixed into one pure sound, the humanoid vocals amongst the use of electronic synth give the music a grounding quality.  The CD is like an adventure worth taking.

Evolution

Emphatic down for the count beating gives heart throbbing life to the Augenlicht multidimensional electronic version of the continual, never exactly the same, rebirthing of each new day.   Visions of HAL 9000’s turned into Dance Hall HAL 2009 twirling about in HAL-ish monolithic splendor with abandon, made me bob with the beat.  It carries you out or is that into space.

Control

When selecting number 8 on the CD you are asked the age old question... “Who’s in control” while the rhythm then sweeps you away with a soothing melodic under current you might answer who cares?  The feeling is so hypnotic and you might say, “I just want to have fun!!!”

Somebody Said

Beeping and more synth beeps answered with distorted replies ... interrupted by a robotic male vocal followed by a heavenly swirl of  sound... a chorus with more beeps answered with distorted replies and the words in human terms... I rather enjoyed the brief but deep thought process.

Sunbeam

This song is meant to be about the Sun however, this blonde see’s or hears a different drum with this number.Sunbeam: Isn’t that the name of the coffee maker and the sound it makes while percolating your morning brew... this song should be programmed into every Starbucks early morning cup of Java.... you would pick up the step in your walk and maybe even talk your talk.....I call this PERKY!!!
