Noxious Emotion is back after two years with the newest release, “Senses” released in October 2003. Yes, the theme of this album about the senses such as sight, hearing touch and smell. “Senses” has many different sounds intertwined within the songs, such as many 80’s influences and even some VNV Nation influences. ”Auditory: The Noise Inside My Head”, that tends to have melodies you would hear from New Order, that catchy sound you might hear in “Blue Monday”, it is a classic sound. “Senses” has more of a danceable feel through out the album, and starts off with Taste: “Your Skin”, and has many sexual qualities. “Equilibrium: I lost my”, is a song about how you have lost many aspects of children and have to deal with the chaos of adulthood. The song has plenty of upbeat danceable melodies. Sixth: God – A lie, has some of the most powerful melodies on this album that intensifies with every beat, especially with the siren like wail during the catchy break of the main vocals. It is a beautiful looping sound that will catch your attention. As I listened to this album, I really heard a smooth and flawless piece of work. It was one of the best Noxious Emotion CD’s I heave heard. It was full of danceable electronics, and haunting melodies. By feeding off the use of senses give the CD direction, let us see more of how someone else perceives our given senses through music.
